Spidersilk updated!

Synopsis:

Prentice and his brother are trying to find a new place to call home. Both are former warriors, but they find themselves falling in with the bustling thieves guild of Kalviva. There, Prentice finds friends, a family of sorts. He also finds love.

But the system isn’t as stable as it boasts, and outside forces are slowly picking apart its defenses.

These looks are from a lovecore outfit tweet and honestly these all looked so fun to draw… I couldn’t decide so Malin is wearing the red ruffle-sleeved blouse AND strawberry corset, and I made a second one with Chan-hwi wearing the blouse with the bow.

I gave them random accessories, some based on things I own. Malin’s shoes had to be modified. And the shirt Chan-hwi is wearing over the blouse started out inspired by the red tank in the upper left but it became a loose over shirt…

ANYWAY this was super fun!

Some snippets of my art from 2020! This is ONLY for my comic Spidersilk – I did a lot of art this spring and summer especially. Most of these started as studies and I just started playing around with color and whatnot. Some were stress drawings, or work I made when I needed to feel calmer.

It became increasingly more important to me to just draw, so I went with my whims and tried not to question myself too hard when I found myself drawing yet ANOTHER character in high-waisted pants, floating. I just embraced it and let the fixations happen. If I wanted to draw flowers, I drew flowers. I just drew whatever struck me in that moment or whatever ideas I got from the pose ref, anything to spark me into starting. Along the way I rediscovered a lot of joy in making art and drawing things I love!

Still a favorite! I love drawing Voss in this kind of armor over the past year or so. I really loved the armor in Assassins Creed Odyssey and kind of internalized some of it for this character. I never pass up a chance to draw flowy fabrics and pretty clouds, either, so here we are!

Voss is from Spidersilk.
He’s kind of a goofball but he’s dependable in a fight.
